Green thumb?

So you know that garden I helped plant back in Spring that was doing so well?

Now it's doing amazing!

...But I haven't touched it since we planted.  Except to harvest a few things here and there.

And that rhododendron I got for my birthday that I planted and it didn't die?  It still hasn't died, but it definitely wasn't looking good.  It hasn't grown any either.  It was looking pretty sad; all wilted with leaves turning brown around the edges.

No I did not take a picture of my plant planting failure.

Turns out, I didn't break up the roots enough when I took it out of the pot. So even though it's sitting in moist soil, it wasn't getting enough water.

My MIL came over last weekend, saw it, and fixed it up right.  It's looking a little better.  But since we haven't gotten any rain this week (what!?!) it's not yet flourishing.  And now it's up to me to water it. Which, hey, guess what; I never remember to do because I never go over to that side of the house!

Maybe my thumb's not so green afterall....
