happy anniversary, husband, here's some fast food for dinner

Today, I have been married for 2 years.  It seems like a long time, but then when I say it outloud, I think, "psh. we're, like, baby marrieds."

Last weekend, we went on 2 dinner dates for our anniversary. One for each year we've been married...we planned it like that...except we didn't at all.

On Friday night, we went to a new restaurant in town called Boathouse 19. It just opened 8 days ago.  Had I known that, I probably would've suggested we go somewhere else.  It was a beautiful day outside, and they have a huge outdoor seating area that overlooks the Narrows Bridge(s), so of course we wanted to sit outdoors. The beautiful weather, and the novelty of the new restaurant made the place super crowded. The wait was over an hour long.

Luckily for us, though, I forgot my sunglasses at home.  And who wants to sit outside in the glaring sunlight sans sunglasses? No one, that's who. So we killed 30 or so minutes by driving back up the hill, and perusing Rite Aid for the perfect pair of SGs (that's what Brad calls them). Since I already own the PNW's largest collection of sunglasses (for living in a place that hardly ever sees the sun, I own a ridiculous amount of eyewear), the new ones didn't need to be that perfect. Just different from all the pairs I already had at home. In that mission, we succeeded. And actually, they're the only glasses I've worn since. So, score.

The food was delicious, and the view was glorious. And I was prepared with a baggy full of triscuits to eat while we were in the queue for our table. The wait was totally worth it.

On Saturday, I made reservations at a restaurant not too far from our house. Over the Moon Cafe. I'd been hearing amazing things about this place, and had wanted to try it out for a long time.

It was amazing.  The food was delicious, and it was the perfect atmosphere for a romantic anniversary dinner.  Going out to fancy places, is one of my favorite things to do with Brad.  It makes me feel classy.

Speaking of classy...

After all of that fancy eating out this weekend, we hadn't planned to do much for tonight, our actual anniversary. I was supposed to cook. However, for the last few weeks, I have despised cooking.  I don't know if it's the warm weather or what, but the thought of preparing a meal makes me want to run away screaming, and then punch someone.

So instead of cooking a fancy, well thought-out meal, we each pitched in a chunk of our spending money and I picked up some Taco Time from the Drive Thru.

And then I ate my whole meal while Brad was out for a run.  I was starving, OK?

If you ask me, Mexi Nuggets were the perfect anniversary dinner.
