Christmas

An entire week has passed already, and I'm not really sure how that happened.

I've been on a break from work since last Friday, and I cannot tell you how much I am loving it. It has to be one of, if not THE, biggest perk about working on a college campus.

Baby Girl's first Christmas present!

Last weekend was a pretty busy one, lots of pre-Christmas celebrations, and then a 2 hour drive to
Sequim, WA where Brad's maternal grandmother lives. Sequim is a fairly small town on the WA peninsula. It's such a nice quiet place to get away to. Brad and I go a few times a year when we want to get away from the city for a few days, and also if we want to see the sun. (Sequim gets 300 days of sunshine a year! That's pretty much 150 times the amount of sun that we get on this side of the Puget Sound).

Brad has a large family on his Dad's side (his dad has 5 sisters, and each of them have at least 2 kids, for a total of 13 first cousins). That's not including uncles and cousin's spouses and cousin's kids. There were a lot of people in Grandma's house on Christmas Eve.  It was pretty awesome.  The best thing about them...they're (we're) a giant family, and very rarely is their drama.  I know it's hard to believe but it's true. They're the most welcoming and friendly group of people.  And I'm so blessed that I got to marry into it.

It was weird being away from my own family for Christmas. But I hear they survived fine without me. It's the first year I've been away for Christmas, even though it's the third year that we've been married. But we did get to celebrate with my parents and sisters the morning before we left for Sequim.

Christmas was a whirlwind of family time and food; the best way to celebrate our Lord and Savior's birth.

I hope you all had an enjoyable Christmas!

Anyone have any fun plans for New Year's Eve? I'm staying home and will probably be in bed right after the clock strikes 12. I'm such a party animal.

  1. I'm glad you had a good Christmas; I love large families, especially when there is no accompanying drama!
