Happy New Year!

I know I'm a few days late with this, but ...HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!

2012 was not the best of years in my book (at all), and I am glad to see it go.  Good riddance!

With that being said, I've also never looked forward to a new year as much as I've been looking forward to 2013.  So many exciting things happening! And it's starting out so busy.

I'm 31 weeks pregnant as of Sunday.  As of today, only 8 more weeks and 4 days to go until her due date!

Brad and I already have something planned for all but two weekends up until Baby Ashtyn is schedule to make her arrival. Weddings and showers and showers and nursery prep. There is so much to do! I'm afraid we may not have time to get her room completed before she decides she's ready to enter the world.  But I am looking forward to it all!  Especially the part where we finally get to see her sweet little face!

My brief Holiday Break from work ended up being a Holiday Break from a lot of things. Like computers. I don't have a fully functioning laptop at home, and thus the break from blogging.  But in that time of less-than internet, I was able to do so much!  My favorite Mother-in-law taught me how to use my sewing machine, and I made curtains for Baby's room (and they even look decent!), I crocheted a hat for my husband (who seems to think he lives in a crocheted hat making sweatshop, as he demands at least 2 new hats a year), we've got the paint color picked out for the baby's room, and her room is primed and ready for paintin'!  And all that was just in the last 5 days of my break.

We also completed all of the decorating in the living room.  I LOVE it.  It's so cozy and nice, and I've skipped so much TV-watching in favor of reading, crocheting, or just sitting on the new couch. It's my favorite.

I haven't set any official Resolutions for the New Year, but I do have a few things I'd like to do differently.

1) Take more pictures (this will probably get SUPER easy once I have a cute little face to take a billion pictures of).

2) Get in shape (after baby comes, of course.  This means lots of walking... hope I can find a good walking stroller).

3) Always be grateful.  It has come to my attention recently, that most of the unhappiness in my life comes from me. I have a lot to be thankful for, and this year I want to always remind myself of that...every day, 1 thing. Even if it's just something small (or it's a repeat, because sometimes you forget the day before, you know?)

  3. Way to go on the curtains - my mom helped me to do a few sewing projects too, but she did the sewing :)

    1. Sewing was WAY easier than I thought it would be....though I did just sew straight lines. :)
