November Cara Box Exchange

In October, Kaitlyn at Wifessionals started a gift box exchange called the Cara Box. It's a pretty cool way to meet other bloggers and get a gift box in the mail! (Who doesn't love that!?)

For November, I was paired up with Virginia at Beloved Oceana. Virginia is from Florida, and the fact that she lives in the exact opposite corner of the country from me was amazingly cool (to me, anyway).  We spent the month emailing back and forth a la pen pals, and then got to go buy cool little gifts for each other.

The theme for this month's Cara Box was childhood, so of course, Virginia got to hear all about my love for NSYNC/Justin Timberlake, my cat, and all that other weird stuff I was into as a kid...and may still like to this day.

On Wednesday, my box arrived from Virginia while I was at home on my lunch break. I hadn't been expecting anything, so it was the best surprise.

Virginia included a Cynthia Rowley bar of lilac scented soap, and I don't know if I've mentioned this before. But the smell of lilacs is one of my absolute favorite things in the entire world; a copy of Seventeen Magazine with One Direction on the cover, apparently they're 2012's version of the late-90s boyband, I've never heard of them, but this one totally made me laugh out loud; a book: "If Cats Could Talk"; a sweet card; and my first ever bottle of Essie nail polish in a color called "Your hut or mine." It is the perfect shade of coral pink.

In college, before I met my husband, I used to tell my roommates that I was never going to get married. I was just going to be a cat lady.   When I met Brad, I was still pretty sure about that plan.  Boys were too much work. You had to be a mind-reader to figure out what was going through their crazy brains! Then we started dating, and maybe I changed my mind. When I bought my house, I took Kitty in, and Brad wasn't so sure about her.  But now he loves her as much as I do. And we're one crazy cat-loving little family. (...I hope Ashtyn likes cats...)  All this to say, the catbook was PURRRfect. (yep, that just happened.)

  1. bahahaha, purrfect. Hey! I got Mia this honeysuckle toy today that they call a cat body pillow and she LOVES it! Have you ever given kitty honeysuckle vs catnip? It's pretty stellar!

    1. Kitty's had catnip like twice in her life. It kinda freaks me out that it makes her act like a crackhead so I don't give it to her often. haha
